Tartan may originally have been an emblem of Scottish pride (together with bagpipe music and a side of Braveheart). But this season tartan takes centre stage thanks to Phillip Lim and Dries Van Noten who showed tartan in their S/S 2013 shows at fashion week.
Tartan works for any style - whether you be more classic prim or punky rock, there is a tartan look that will work for you.
The 'rules' - make the tartan your focus and team with neutral colours. Add leather like Jessica Alba to nail the rocker vibe or opt for tailored tartan like Kate Middleton to keep it classic.
However you wear it, it is time to bow to the tartan fashion army!
