Jazz it up with Jewellery

I am a huge fan of statement jewellery - just like a good pair of heels it can really transform an outfit. A chunky choker can take a simple t-shirt from drab to fab in an instant. Chandelier earrings add drama to a simple shift dress. And pile on the bracelets for that nonchalant 'I couldn't decide on one so I wore them all' look that the Olsens carry off so well!

Here are some pieces from my personal collection. Jewellery is a great way to experiment because it doesn't have to be expensive to add true class to your street style.

(See more pics from my collection at the bottom of this post!)

Where to buy - high street
Key places to go for chic but budget-friendly jewellery include of course the much loved Accessorize (http://uk.accessorize.com/) - I swear they delay my trains from Glasgow Central on purpose just to make sure I go in there!

Zara (http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/home/uk/en/), another favourite of mine, has also stormed onto the jewellery arena - their statement necklaces are particularly fabulous for taking an outfit to another level.

New Look (http://www.newlook.com/) has some great pieces in at the moment - my neon necklace shown below was also worn on Made in Chelsea by Cheska Hull.

Where to buy - on the WWW
There are also so many fantastic websites where you can locate a real 'find' that everyone else in the office will be lusting over with no idea where you found it!

www.gorjana-griffin.com
A genius site, gorjanna & griffin is a real find - go to the 'gorjana' site for ladies and to 'griffin' for men. A US website that ships to the UK for a very reasonable $15, G&G caters for everyone regardless of whether your style is more small and dainty or the chunkier the better.

I am lusting after their Graham Neutral Leather Studded Wrap bracelet $55.00.

www.thejewelhut.co.uk The Jewel Hut is great if you like your jewellery branded. They stock brands from Pandora to Links of London, from Guess to Swarovski. My fashion eye is on 'Daisy Jewellery' as the next big thing. This 'Lambada' ring is in the sale at just £30 and is at the top of my wishlist! Great for stacking!

My Flash Trash is the go-to place for any fashionista wanting to make a real style statement. Their pieces range from the unusual to the totally wacky and are great to add a little fun or irony to your outfit. LOVING the green telephone ring by 'Me & Zena' which is down to £20.30 in the sale. Check it out now!

Happy browsing!

Stylist Pick - we heart you!

If you haven't come across the new website where every piece is chosen and endorsed by a top stylist then get on it now!

Stylistpick.com is a revolutionary site where you can choose to browse the collection and read comments on how to style each item by top British stylists (think Louise Roe, red carpet regular; Arabella Greenhill, fashion editor at Marie Claire; and Charlotte Adsett, stylist to Pixie Lott) or you can opt for a more personal experience by completing a survey to let the stylists know your signature style - then they can recommend key pieces that will fit in with your current wardrobe! Genius! Oh and Cheryl Cole has created a line of super high shoe boots for bargain prices!

Pssst! Check out the sale! I just bought a pair of black suede wedge knee boots to die for (£20) AND a pair of patent black brogues (£15) that will go with EVERYTHING this season!

Zebra Chic! Embrace the Monochrome Trend!

This season monochrome is chic - again! Not a surprise really - black and white always looks good and if it's good enough for Chanel...

I have bought three key monochrome pieces this season and have posted them below - all high street, all affordable - you can purchase a few key pieces and mix them in with what you already have in your own wardrobe. Classic B&W never goes out of fashion so these are savvy investment buys!

Remember - monochrome doesn't mean boring! Look out for quirky prints and geometric patterns to change the look up a little and experiment!

Check out my key picks for Spring below:

Zara Two-Tone Trouser £39.99

Zara Top with Sheer Stripe £29.99
Nail two trends in one with the sheer panel in this beautiful top - tres chic!

New Look Jumper £19.99
I have bought all of the above items and CANNOT WAIT for the occasion to wear them! As soon as I do I will post the complete look with my choice of accessories!

This is a really easy look to nail and suits absolutely everyone! You don't need to spend much money and monochrome is always chic so happy shopping!

Style Files - Fur Gilet

Lunch with the girls on a lazy Saturday afternoon is a great excuse to share style tips and create a little wardrobe envy! Yesterday I choose my Oasis skinnies teamed with my studded Topshop heeled boots, Topshop denim shirt with collar cuffs and a Zara feather gilet to fend off the chilly breeze! Topped off with my feather trilby from Ted Baker and tan leather bucket bag from Zara, the girls were loving this look! Hope you do too ! The gilet has been spotted on Millie Mackintosh and Olivia Palermo has been spotted with the Zara bag. Both sold out in stores but available on eBay.

Comfy chic! I would love to hear your views on this look!

Bisous!

Style Files - Sunday 27th January 2013

The big freeze has hit us once more so for a day out in Glasgow I wrapped up in my wool coat from Zara with faux leather sleeves (now £59.99 in the sale) with my faux fur collar by Moore & Moore and my riding boots (total bargain from Primark at £20!).
This I teamed with my much loved Luella bag and my new stacked ring from Mango! Cozy snow chic!

May I also introduce my puppy Abbie who will be posing in many of my blogposts going forward and is an avid fashion lover herself!

Keep snug and stylish!

Bisous

Sales Shopping

Stacked Gold Colour Ring - Mango
Pssst! White nails are hot for Spring/Summer 2013!
I love the January sales - especially when I am waiting around in the airport to get home from work (London Gatwick this time).

Loving my inexpensive and possibly favourite bargain find from Mango - layered ring in gold (also available in silver colour) for less than £5! Avid watchers of Made in Chelsea will testify to how similar it looks to the rings sported by Rosie Fortescue - at a tiny fraction of the price! Mango we salute you!

Other coveted purchases include a blonde faux fur collar ( the Perfect Chelsea accessory); a zebra print chiffon blouse (both from a bientot); and a silk boyfriend blazer from Mango. All truly bargainous! Pics to follow! Today's outing to Zara was focused less on the sales (I more or less bled those dry earlier in the month) and more on the new season stock! LOVING the monochrome trend-so simple yet so chic! I will be showing you how I'll be wearing it this season on  upcoming blogs!

Now, when is payday..?!

Welcome to the Fashion Cupboard!

Hi all,

A very big welcome to my new blogspot where I will be discussing everything from what to pack for Paris fashion week to how to do snow chic!

I am really looking forward to sharing my style ideas with you and helping you to achieve the look that you want within your budget.

I have been inspired by some amazing bloggers out there (http://www.oliviapalermo.com/category/fashion/ to mention one!) - they have amazing style but often they also have the means to buy what they want when they want regardless of price. Regrettably this is not my world! I have to be style savvy and really think about the key pieces I want (and, let's face it, NEED) each season.

If you are looking for inspiration as well as practical ways to achieve your look then you have come to the right place!

I will be posting at least weekly from now on in and will share with you my fashion archive as well as what I am wearing now (and, most importantly, where to buy it!).

I welcome comments and questions that you have - and if there is anything you want to see me comment on please just ask!

This is the fashion cupboard - come inside and try me on for size!

Bisous!
