Gym Bunny

As the weather gets (marginally) better, as does my motivation to eat healthily and exercise more regularly. Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) I won't be frequenting any bikini destinations this year, but I am off to NYC next month and I want to bare my arms and legs with confidence!

Unfortunately, months of heavy jumpers and central heating have left my limbs dull, pale and - let's be honest - on the flabby side. Time to take action!

So on a mission to get summer body ready, I have dusted off my gym membership card and dragged two of my bff's along for the ride - misery loves company! Last night it was a standard gym session - treadmill, bike, weights, cross trainer, collapse. You know the drill. Tonight it is back to Body Attack and, trust me, they named this one well - it attacks every muscle in your body in a high energy workout that will leave us purple faced but proud!

My workout essentials?

Water, water, water. My iPhone which holds all of my favourite tunes and my pink headphones are the perfect practical accessory. And how much do I love my Chanel Le Vernis iPhone case!

A girl has to do everything she can to make the gym a more exciting place! I will let you know how I get on!

Style Files - Ahoy Matey!

As Glasgow is more or less the only place in the whole of the UK with rain this bank holiday, I am cozying up in this nautical knit.

What are you wearing this bank holiday Monday?

Style Files - Prison Break

After watching all eight seasons of 24, I was on the lookout for an alternative drama series to fill the void and am currently working my way through Season 2 of Prison Break. I am more than a little obsessed!

So today's outfit takes a little inspiration from the Fox River Eight with a little prison stripe chic! My H&M top was a bargain at £5 in the sale - I love the contrasting triangle side panels which add just enough interest to counteract the in-mate design. Of course I had to add my favourite bright handbag of the moment and, unfortunately, us Scots have been much less fortunate in the weather department than our English counterparts so my winter coat hasn't quite been put to the back of my closet just yet. As all fellow Glaswegians will agree, a brolly is an essential handbag item for us all year round!

Happy bank holiday weekend!

Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards - Bloggers Do It Best!

Hi MyFashionCuboard readers!

I recently attended a blogger event in advance of the INAA Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards 2013 which take place on 26th May at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel. This will be the 3rd year of the Awards which recognise great Scottish talent and has included past winners such as Browns, Dumfries and Craig Andrews Hairdressing, Glasgow.

The event is organised by INAA.com (I Need An Appointment) which is the UK's first online hair and beauty booking portal providing access to hundreds of fantastic businesses at the touch of a button for 24/7 booking convenience. Genius! Since, according to an INAA survey, only 45% of us have ever treated ourselves to a salon treatment, it is high time that we all embraced the good old L'Oreal catch phrase because WE ARE WORTH IT!

Sponsors of the event include GHD, Bumble & Bumble, Bare Minerals, O.P.I and Lauren's Way, the new line headed by Lauren Goodger of TOWIE. Us lucky bloggers were invited to a 'Bloggers Do It Best' event to discover the finalists and try out some amazing products by the event sponsors. From spray tans by Lauren Goodger's team, - yes she was there in person - to Bumble & Bumble beehives on demand, the night was great fun and a fantastic chance to meet like-minded bloggers from across the country.

Check out my pics below and my outfit from the event - surprise, surprise I went for brights! We also got an amazing goodie bag so I will be trying out the products and reporting back to you whether I think they get a thumbs up or thumbs down! Stay tuned!

Style Files - Love at First Bright

Good afternoon fellow fashion addicts!

If you have been following my blog for a while you will know that I do not shy away from a good colour pop and I am loving this combo right now - super bright clutch offset by a chic nude nail. I do love this clutch although it was on the pricey side - lesson learnt - I must avoid Zara stores at all costs - I am much more sensible when shopping online!

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I got a little carried away in Boots recently and bought not one but six Barry M Gelly polishes - slightly excessive but the colour range is fantastic and Boots always has some kind of deal on. I also picked up these rings from Boots - they aren't available online but take a look in UK stores for bargain jewellery ideas.

Get your bright on!
